HOW TO SAVE MONEY ON BOOKS

A love of reading is priceless but unfortunately, books can be pricey! If you’re looking to add to your home library but need to stay within budget, we have a few tips to share.

Here at The Art Kit, we believe in quality, beautiful, wholesome books that enrich those that read them. We also believe you can’t have too many bookcases. 😅

  1. Library book sales – we’ve snagged quite a few good books from our local library book sales.

  2. Garage sales – a great place to find fantastic deals and out-of-print books.

  3. Free little libraries – these are fun and have been popping up all over the country!

  4. Used books on Amazon – shop hard-to-find books from the comfort of your home!

  5. Local thrift stores

  6. Homeschool buy/sell groups on Facebook

  7. Facebook Marketplace

  8. Scribd (get two free months here).

  9. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – This free book program is not available in every area but definitely worth looking into – check availability here.

  10. Amazon or Target book sales – shop their sales (often offered a few times a year) and get free books. Subscribe to our email list to be notified when the next sale is offered.

  11. Scholastic – join as a teacher if you homeschool and purchase brand new books for just $1 (or less!) Check it out here!

  12. Book Outlet – one of our favorite places to get amazing book deals. All their books are new and up to 90% off the original list price. If you haven’t purchased from Book Outlet before, don’t miss out!
